LATEST

We’re always up to something simply because politics never stops, so we don’t plan to either. Keep up-to-date with our latest activities, collaborations and advocacy progress here, where we will be opening up our doors to show you the nitty gritty of how we get things done.

This will of course include what we learn from our failures, as we can’t change everything that needs changing overnight – even though we’d like to. Our strategy has three key strands to it which are essentially the pillars of what we do.

Find out more about each section below.

EDUCATION

EDUCATION

The Basics – The Basics is our experiential-based learning game that allows players to share opinions, challenge stereotypes and play an active role in the decision-making processes. Ultimately it’s about showing young citizens the power they have to shape the society in which they want to live in.

ADVOCACY

ADVOCACY

“Rather than complaining about things in the system, why not change the system?” words from the man himself Mike Sani and changing is exactly what we are on our way to do. The Royall Amendment is our latest effort to make simple but significant changes to how university students can be registered to vote at the point of enrolment. The amendment with the support of Labour peer Baroness Janet Royall is both cost effective and proven in two examples to dramatically increase the number of students registered to vote.

Citizenship Education – We’re completely aware that some form of Citizenship Education is currently being taught in school but the agreement is that it’s not being taught well. Advocating for quality Citizenship Education is something we are particularly passionate about which is why we dedicated education resources like The Basics, community engagement like Decafe and ultimately advocacy through the APPG to ensure all young citizens are able to benefit from quality Citizenship Education at some point through in their school life.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Collaborations – At  BTB we believe that collaboration is key to achieving long term goals that benefit the whole and not just the minority. Alongside our partners in change we’ve also embarked on a creative journey to achieve our mission of helping young citizens realise their political potential. As part of our community engagement strategy our collaborations with partners like Unilad are about encouraging debates and reshaping what young citizens consider to be political issues. From social class to how our tax money is spent there really isn’t any topic that’s off limits.
